Emergencies are Never Fun,
But they mean different things to different people.
I am Not a First Responder,
So if your house is on fire or you've got a flood
at your doorstep, you should probably call 911. But I'll be quite
willing to come over once everything has settled down somewhat.
If there's a Hurricane or some Big Disaster in the
works,
I'm going to be evacuating right alongside everyone
else. Hopefully you've already backed up your data someplace safe,
because I'm not coming over to do it now. BUT, if you've entrusted
your backups to us, and your CD / DVD backup is at our location, I'll be
sure to take it with me before we head out.
If you're getting the idea that my kind of emergencies
are pretty small,
Then you're right.
On the other hand, I understand that if your hard
drive crashes while you're teenager is writing a term paper that's due
tomorrow morning, that's an emergency too. And I'll try my best to
get over to your place and take care of it as best I can.
So Call our Toll Free Help Desk Number, 866-446-2424
And let us know that you're having an emergency.
We'll put a priority on the call, and if at all possible, we'll drop what
we're doing and come over. If you need help with our 800 number,
click
here.
Of course since most computer emergencies aren't
life threatening, we'll still have to be considerate of what other people
are doing. For instance, if I'm already helping someone else with
their computer, I'll probably have to finish up with them first.
If it's late at night or on a Sunday, click here.
If I'm on vacation or doing something else far
far away, I'll leave a message on our 800 number, and I'll get back to
you when I can. In that case, if your need is urgent, I'll recommend
someone else in the area who can help you out.
If your Business deals with Life Critical Data,
Or the life of your Business depends on your critical
data, which you're afraid might disappear in an emergency or critical failure,
then we'll need to sit down and negotiate a special Service Level Agreement
(SLA). And that's going to cost a lot more than our regular Service
Agreements, because it will specify our response times, level of backups,
and so on. I don't want to scare away your business, but frankly,
since there's only a few of us at Country Boy Computers, you really should
think about contracting with one of the larger computer service companies
in the area if you need a real, honest-to-goodness SLA.
Still, if the disaster has already struck, and
we're not heading for the hills ourselves, one of us will be glad to come
over and help out.
If it's a Holiday, Sunday, or
Late at Night,
Then you're going to have be a little considerate
of us too. If you've got a Service Agreement with us, you've earned
the right to call us whenever you need to, and we'll come out and help
you. However, between the hours of 10pm and 6am, and all day on Sundays
and Holidays, we're going to have to charge you $40 / hour instead of the
usual $20 / hour.
If you don't have a Service Agreement with us,
we're going to have to charge you $60 / hour instead of the usual $40 /
hour, and while you may be able to call us any time, our Emergency Service
Hours will be more limited. We'll come out as late as 10pm weekdays
and as early as 9am on Saturdays, but that's all. If you don't have
a Service Agreement with us, we're not coming out on Sundays or Holidays
at all. If you want to set up a Service Agreement with us in an emergency,
that's fine, but we're going to need payment for the contract before we
start work on your computer.
